Rowany Festival

Rowany Festival (colloquially referred to as ‘Festival’) is the largest event in the Kingdom of Lochac, and is hosted by the Barony of Rowany every year during the Easter long weekend. Historically, the event ran for 5 days from the Thursday evening prior to Easter Friday until the evening of Easter Monday. However, from AS48 (2014) the event was extended to 6 days – until the Tuesday afternoon following Easter Monday.

The event tends to attract anywhere between 600 to 1,000 attendees from all across Lochac and it is common for a handful of international visitors to attend.

The site varies from year to year, with sites having included Tara, Wilton, Crossroads (Yass), Glenworth Valley and, most recently, Camp Womberoo.

In the style and spirit of pilgrim’s badges, each Rowany Festival provides metal event tokens that record the year of the event. The motifs on the tokens vary from year to year in period and shape. Many people collect these tokens. Furthermore, at each Festival there is a unique t-shirt available for sale with medieval inspired images on them, and these are also collectibles for many Lochacians. Photos of various Festival event tokens and t-shirt designs are available online:
