The College of Blessed Herman the Cripple is based at the Adelaide University in South Australia in the Barony of Innilgard. Local Collegians are referred to as Hermanites and the College name is often shortened to simply Blessed Herman.

The College was established in April 1986 (AS 20), becoming the first College of Lochac, with Tako Ich’Yama as the first Seneschal.

Blessed Herman has various communication mediums, including their website, email list, and a facebook group.

The mascots of the College are Ausca the Ram and Fred the Fire-breathing Goat of Doom. Consequently, Rams and Goats are also used as supporters of the College arms.

The College device for Blessed Herman, as emblazoned on the Lochac Roll of Arms, is:

Per pale Or and argent, a closed book palewise, spine to dexter, gules, clasped and charged with a laurel wreath Or, all within a bordure embattled azure.

Blessed Herman’s signature events include:

  • Feast of Blessed Herman the Cripple – this annual event is a celebration of the patron saint of the College, best summarised by Blodeuwedd y Gath:

Hermanus Contractus, known also as Blessed Herman the Cripple, was an 11th century monk. Though crippled from birth with a cleft palate and palsy, he was a noted scholar, a mathematician, linguist, poet and astronomer, who invented many scientific tools and wrote hymns still sung today. The first College in Lochac took this gentle scholar as our patron, as he shone in all the fields of scholastic endeavour. Every year, the College of Blessed Herman the Cripple holds a feast in his honour, where we celebrate his memory and our achievements of the year, with an evening of feasting, singing and merriment.

..every year at the feast, we find by some miracle that members of the College and the Barony find that they have possible relics of our beloved Patron in their possession. Each person explains why their offering should be recognized as a true relic, and the most miraculous and entertaining offering is declared by popular acclaim to be a True Relic and is placed in the College Reliquary for future Collegians to be amazed by.
